SolarBK: A year of accelerating Central Vietnam’s green transition

After years of establishing its presence in Central Vietnam, SolarBK has accelerated its momentum across the region over the past year, rolling out a series of energy projects at manufacturing facilities from Hue and Da Nang to Quang Ngai and Quang Tri. Two of its latest milestones in August 2026 — an 11 MWp rooftop solar project at Miera Hue and a 2.2 MWp solar + 2.3 MWh BESS project at Sedo Vinako, demonstrate an expansion not only in project scale, but also in the depth and sophistication of its energy solutions.
Growing Industrial Activity Drives Demand for Green Energy
The expansion of industrial parks and clusters, together with increasing investment in manufacturing, is creating new growth momentum for Central Vietnam. According to data released at the Central and Central Highlands Industry and Trade Conference, the region currently has 352 industrial clusters covering a total area of 11,556 hectares, of which 279 are already operational. In 2025, the Index of Industrial Production increased by 13.5% in Hue and 12.9% in Quang Ngai. In Da Nang, the High-Tech Park, centralized IT zones and industrial parks had attracted a cumulative 179 FDI projects with total registered capital of nearly USD 2.66 billion, along with 472 domestic projects representing more than VND 50.5 trillion in investment as of October 2025.
As manufacturing capacity continues to expand, businesses are looking beyond simply securing a reliable power supply. Requirements related to emissions, energy traceability and the share of renewable energy in operations are becoming increasingly prominent across global supply chains, making green energy an integral part of industrial competitiveness.
Solar power project at Sedo Vinako executed by SolarBK
Under Vietnam’s revised Power Development Plan VIII, the country’s solar power capacity is targeted to reach approximately 46,459–73,416 MW by 2030, while nationwide rooftop solar potential is estimated at around 48,200 MW. With large factory rooftop areas and electricity demand concentrated during production hours, the industrial sector is well positioned to harness on-site renewable energy.
Miera’s 11 MWp Project and the Solar + BESS Milestone at Sedo Vinako
Against this backdrop, August 2026 marked two notable SolarBK projects in Central Vietnam.
On August 12, Miera Hue and SolarBK signed an agreement to develop an 11 MWp rooftop solar project at the Miera Hue factory in La Son Industrial Park, Hue City. The system is expected to generate approximately 15.81 million kWh of clean electricity annually, helping avoid more than 10,400 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

Operating in the ceramic, porcelain and granite industry, Miera Hue is part of an energy-intensive manufacturing sector. According to Mr. Vu Manh Au, Director of Miera Hue Co., Ltd., the project is expected to help the company optimize production costs, gain greater control over its use of clean energy, and strengthen its foundation for export expansion while meeting increasingly stringent requirements in markets such as the United States and Europe.
While Miera Hue represents a milestone in project scale, Sedo Vinako reflects SolarBK’s advancement in technological depth.
On August 14, a 2.2 MWp solar power system integrated with a 2.3 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Sedo Vinako, Dong Yen Industrial Cluster, Duy Xuyen Commune, Da Nang City, officially entered commercial operation. This is SolarBK’s first commercial Solar + BESS project to achieve COD.
Sedo Vinako had previously operated an approximately 1.62 MWp solar power system. Following nearly two years of actual operational data and performance assessment, the company decided to expand its energy solution by integrating BESS. According to Mr. Kim Byung Tae, Director of Sedo Vinako, the performance demonstrated during the system’s operation was one of the key factors behind the company’s decision to continue its cooperation on the new project.
The project, combining 2.2 MWp of solar power and a 2.3 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Sedo Vinako in Dong Yen Industrial Cluster, Duy Xuyen Commune, Da Nang City, has officially been put into commercial operation.
BESS integration enables surplus solar energy that is not immediately consumed to be stored and supplied back to production when needed. As a result, the energy challenge at industrial facilities is evolving beyond installed generation capacity toward the effective coordination of generation, storage and load.
A Year of Accelerating Central Vietnam’s Green Transition
Miera Hue and Sedo Vinako are the latest highlights in a series of SolarBK projects that have gained momentum across Central Vietnam over the past year. In Hue, these include Phu An Spinning at 2.7 MWp, Mikado Hue at approximately 1.7 MWp. In Da Nang and surrounding areas, projects include DH Textile at 2.3 MWp and Cell Bio Human Tech at 1.22 MWp. In Quang Ngai, SolarBK has deployed the 1.4 MWp PNS Chun project, alongside another project at MDF VRG Quang Tri.
This growing project portfolio also demonstrates SolarBK’s accumulated expertise across different customer segments. In the ceramics and building materials sector, from Mikado to Miera Hue, SolarBK continues to deploy solutions at energy-intensive manufacturing facilities where structural conditions, heat and dust exposure, safety, and production continuity impose demanding technical requirements. Among Korean-invested enterprises, cooperation has expanded from Sedo Vinako to PNS Chun and Cell Bio Human Tech, with both Sedo Vinako and PNS Chun belonging to Sedo Camping.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duong Tuan, CEO of SolarBK, solar power is not the end goal, but rather one component of a broader energy management strategy. Long-term value lies in the ability to integrate clean energy generation with storage, monitoring and operational optimization based on the actual needs of each manufacturing facility.
The year 2026 also marks SolarBK’s 20th anniversary in the renewable energy sector. From energy systems deployed in the Truong Sa Archipelago and on the DK1 offshore platforms to large-scale industrial projects such as the 30.72 MWp system at the VinFast Hai Phong factory and the 7.3 MWp project at LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam, SolarBK’s journey reflects an expanding scope of deployment in both scale and technological complexity.
