The 979 kWp rooftop solar PV system developed by SolarBK at Prime Ngoi Viet began generating electricity on August 12, 2026. With an estimated annual output of approximately 1,028 MWh, the system provides an additional source of renewable electricity for the glazed ceramic roof tile manufacturing facility, helping reduce grid electricity consumption, manage energy costs, and lower carbon emissions.

Building materials manufacturing is an energy-intensive industry that requires a stable electricity supply to maintain production. As energy costs and emissions reduction requirements become increasingly important, rooftop solar offers manufacturers an opportunity to utilize existing roof space, generate electricity on-site, and improve energy efficiency.

SolarBK Deploys a 979 kWp System to Support On-Site Power Generation
Construction commenced on July 1, 2026, and the system began generating electricity on August 12, 2026. Project implementation required careful consideration of the factory's operating conditions, including rooftop installation, construction safety, and quality control.
Northern Vietnam's rainy season was one of the factors considered during construction. SolarBK proactively adjusted work schedules and allocated personnel according to actual site and weather conditions. Close coordination between SolarBK and the project owner facilitated construction planning, the resolution of emerging issues, and quality control throughout implementation.

Beyond installation, long-term operating conditions were also taken into account. Given the potential for dust generation in ceramic roof tile manufacturing, monitoring module surfaces and implementing appropriate cleaning and maintenance practices are important to sustaining system performance.
With an installed capacity of 979 kWp, the system is expected to generate approximately 1,028 MWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to an estimated 678 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided per year, calculated using an emissions factor of 0.6592 kg CO₂/kWh.
The electricity generated on-site is expected to reduce the factory's reliance on grid electricity, support energy cost management, and contribute to its long-term emissions reduction objectives.

The Prime Ngoi Viet project builds on SolarBK's collaboration with manufacturing facilities within PRIME Group, including previous rooftop solar projects at Prime Pho Yen and Prime Vinh Phuc.
