Groundbreaking Ceremony for the 2.5 MWp Rooftop Solar Project at LOF International Dairy Products Factory: Supporting Sustainable Manufacturing Through Clean Energy

Publish date 03/07/2026

As manufacturers increasingly embrace green transformation to strengthen competitiveness and meet sustainability requirements, rooftop solar has become an integral part of long-term energy management strategies. Investing in renewable energy not only helps optimize electricity costs but also contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, achieving ESG objectives, and meeting the growing sustainability expectations of global supply chains.

On July 3, 2026, Phase 1 of the 2.5 MWp rooftop solar project at LOF International Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (LOF) officially broke ground at the Bau Bang Expanded Industrial Park. This marks the first phase of a 5 MWp project, utilizing 33,187 m² of rooftop area and representing another important milestone in LOF's journey toward integrating renewable energy into its manufacturing operations as part of its sustainable development strategy.

Once commissioned, Phase 1 is expected to generate approximately 3,815,541 kWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to an estimated reduction of 2,515 tonnes of CO₂e emissions per year. This will support LOF in advancing its ESG commitments, increasing the share of renewable energy in its operations, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout its manufacturing activities.

In this project, Vietnam–Singapore Smart Energy Solutions Joint Stock Company (VSSES) serves as the project investor and developer, while SolarBK has been selected as the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractor, responsible for engineering design, equipment procurement, construction, commissioning, and system handover.

Established as a joint venture between Sembcorp Industries, Becamex IDC, and VSIP, VSSES focuses on developing rooftop solar and smart energy solutions for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers across Vietnam. As the project investor and developer, VSSES selects implementation partners based on their ability to meet stringent requirements for technical capability, quality, safety, and project management, ensuring long-term investment performance and reliable system operation.

SolarBK's appointment as the EPC contractor reflects its implementation capabilities and its ability to meet the investor's requirements for technical standards, quality assurance, safety, and project management.

For industrial rooftop solar projects, effective project execution—from engineering and equipment procurement to construction and commissioning—is essential to ensuring construction quality, optimizing investment efficiency, and maintaining stable long-term system performance. These have become increasingly important criteria for manufacturers when selecting implementation partners.

The rooftop solar project at the LOF factory reflects the growing trend among manufacturers to integrate renewable energy into their long-term development strategies. Upon completion of the full 5 MWp project, the system will further increase the use of clean electricity in LOF's production operations, contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, support the company's ESG objectives, and reinforce its commitment to sustainable development.
