SolarBK’s Turnkey Clean Energy Solutions for Sustainable Hotels & Resorts in the Net Zero Era

Publish date 05/09/2025

The global tourism industry is facing a critical challenge: how to grow profitably while minimizing negative environmental impacts?

At the seminar “Clean Energy in Tourism Development” under the framework of the Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC 2025), SolarBK – a pioneering enterprise with nearly 20 years of experience – provided a convincing answer, affirming that clean energy is not only a trend but also the core solution for resorts and hotels to shape sustainable tourism.

With strategic vision and practical expertise, SolarBK’s Investment Director, Mr. Nguyen Thinh, highlighted a distinctive perspective: instead of installing solar energy as an add-on later, it must be integrated right from the design stage of construction to optimize efficiency.

Green Tourism: The Irreversible Path

The tourism industry currently accounts for 8–9% of total global greenhouse gas emissions. Resorts and hotels, in particular, consume a massive amount of electricity for operations and guest comfort. In the context where environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards and Net Zero (carbon neutrality) goals have become mandatory, transitioning to clean energy is no longer an option – it is a survival strategy to maintain competitiveness.

International surveys also show that green tourism is rapidly rising. Specifically, 74% of young travelers prioritize sustainability when planning trips, and certified green hotels attract more guests thanks to 20–30% lower energy consumption compared to conventional hotels.

SolarBK: Comprehensive Solutions and Real Proof

At the session, SolarBK introduced a comprehensive solution that goes far beyond conventional approaches, including:
Solar Photovoltaics (PV): helping resorts significantly reduce electricity costs, while creating opportunities for profit from Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) and carbon credits.
Solar Water Heating (SWH): a tailored solution for the hospitality industry. With high energy conversion efficiency, when combined with Heat Pumps, SWH dramatically reduces electricity costs for hot water systems while ensuring guest comfort.

Alma Resort (Khanh Hoa): a 2.5 MWp system saving approximately VND 12 billion in electricity costs annually.
To demonstrate the effectiveness, Mr. Nguyễn Duy Thịnh highlighted a series of outstanding projects. At Alma Resort (Khanh Hoa), the clean energy system has helped save approximately VND 12 billion in electricity costs each year. Meanwhile, Saigon Hotel and Majestic Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City have also implemented solar water heating systems with capacities of 10,000 liters/day and 25,000 liters/day respectively, contributing to a sustainable green energy transition and optimizing operations for these long-standing hotels.

These are just a few examples among the many projects that SolarBK has successfully deployed in the hospitality sector. The results affirm that clean energy is not only an investment in environmental protection, but also a strategic solution that enables resorts and hotels to increase profitability and enhance brand value

“Made in Vietnam” Energy Ecosystem: A Long-term Commitment

The key difference that helps SolarBK build sustainable trust is its closed-loop ecosystem, ensuring quality and reliability:
  • Irex photovoltaic panels, a brand under the SolarBK ecosystem.
  • Technology: the ERIS Energy Platform enables transparent and efficient system management.
  • Services: operations, maintenance, recovery, and recycling processes ensure a complete green journey for customers.
SolarBK’s message to the forum was clear: “Ready to partner with the tourism industry to create green resort models – saving, profitable, and sustainable.”
This presentation attracted special attention from leaders, regulators, and industry businesses, marking an important milestone in Vietnam’s green transition journey for tourism.
