The Role of Solar Power in Shopping Malls, Logistics, and Warehousing Operations
In continuously operating models such as shopping malls, logistics centers, and warehouses, electricity is no longer a “utility cost” listed at the bottom of the accounting sheet. Power is the fundamental condition that keeps the entire system running smoothly: lighting, refrigeration, MEP systems, escalators, security, IT infrastructure, and layers of automation.
As operating scale increases, even a brief power disruption may not immediately shut everything down, but it is sufficient to trigger a chain reaction: equipment needs restarting, control systems generate errors, operations lose rhythm, customer experience deteriorates, or logistics workflows are interrupted.
At AEON Mall Tan Phu, SolarBK deployed a “Japanese-standard” rooftop solar system with a capacity of nearly 1 MW
In this context, rooftop solar power is increasingly viewed by businesses as a foundational step, because it addresses one of the most challenging problems: reducing dependence on the grid during daytime peak hours, when electrical loads are highest and electricity costs are most expensive for large-scale operations. Solar power does not merely generate kilowatt-hours; it creates energy autonomy during the most critical hours of daily operations.
For large-load operating models, solar power is particularly effective in cutting daytime loads, when systems face both high consumption and maximum pressure on cost and stability. Once daytime energy is partially self-supplied, businesses gain greater room to manage operational risks and begin forming real consumption data—an essential foundation for any long-term energy strategy.
The key point is that the value of solar power does not lie in generic promises, but in how well it is embedded into the operational structure. A properly designed system does not merely maximize output; it optimizes generation at the right time, for the right load, and toward the right objectives—so that solar power truly becomes a foundation for continuous operations, not just a cost-saving project. SolarBK: Integrating Solar Power into the Right Operational Equation
SolarBK approaches solar power for continuous-operation models with a systems mindset. Instead of starting with installed capacity, SolarBK begins with load characteristics, operating rhythms, and operational risks, and only then develops the appropriate technical solution. This approach ensures that solar power is not installed “for form’s sake,” but becomes a measurable, monitorable, and upgradeable operational component over time.
At ICD Tan Cang – Song Than, SolarBK implemented a solar power project for a logistics center with a total capacity of 500.96 kWp
In 24/7 projects, SolarBK does not optimize for maximum theoretical capacity, but prioritizes configurations aligned with each system’s load profile and operational constraints. The objective is not to generate the most electricity on paper, but to deliver real operational value: reducing daytime load pressure, stabilizing systems, and ensuring long-term reliability.
SolarBK also emphasizes building a data foundation through performance monitoring and system supervision. This data allows businesses to see efficiency in numbers rather than perception, while creating the basis for evaluating future optimization steps. This approach avoids fragmented, one-off projects and instead builds a clean energy platform closely aligned with operational strategy and increasingly clear ESG requirements.
In parallel, SolarBK places strong emphasis on building a data foundation through system monitoring and performance tracking. This data allows businesses to see efficiency through measurable figures rather than subjective perception, while also creating the basis for evaluating subsequent optimization steps. This is how SolarBK avoids fragmented, one-off project deployments, instead building a clean energy platform that is closely integrated with operational strategy and increasingly explicit ESG requirements.
At Otrans Logistics – Vung Tau, the solar power system has a capacity of 712.8 kWp
At ICD Tan Cang – Song Than, SolarBK implemented a solar power project for a logistics center with a total capacity of 500.96 kWp, using 1,616 IREX solar panels. This is a continuously operating logistics model, where there is no room for “trial and error” in operations. In this case, solar power serves as a foundational element that reduces daytime load pressure and supports a structured, long-term approach to greening logistics operations.
At AEON Mall Tan Phu, SolarBK deployed a “Japanese-standard” rooftop solar system with a capacity of nearly 1 MW, using IREX photovoltaic panels “Made in Vietnam” and manufactured by SolarBK. This project clearly demonstrates that solar power in shopping malls is not merely about cost savings, but also about operational standards, system reliability, and the ability to align with global corporations on their sustainable development journeys.
At Otrans Logistics – Vung Tau, the solar power system has a capacity of 712.8 kWp, helping the company reduce approximately 806 tons of CO₂ emissions per year. This case shows that once logistics companies establish a solar power foundation, they gain an important leverage point to progressively upgrade energy management, moving from cost reduction, to standardized operational data, and ultimately to readiness for more advanced strategic initiatives when conditions are right.
